We've gathered the most common questions about what to bring to camp, helping you prepare your camper for a memorable summer. From essential gear to activity-specific items, find all the information you need right here.

What are the absolute must-haves that every camper needs to bring to Redbird Adventure Camp for a fun and safe day?
Campers must arrive in outdoor play clothes, wearing sunscreen and bug spray (we recommend "Deep Woods" products). Long hair must be tied back, and all campers should wear tennis shoes. They should also bring an extra set of clothes, socks, and underwear, a Coast Guard certified life jacket (this is very important, without it campers will not be allowed near the water and will miss out on activities), a swimsuit, goggles (optional), a towel, water shoes (flip-flops or slides are acceptable), a bag for wet clothes, and lunch (snacks in the morning and afternoon will be provided). If your camper has an allergy, please bring their own snacks. All these items should be in a backpack and ideally labeled. Don't forget to pack extra sunscreen and bug spray for reapplication.

Given all the cool things campers will do, are there any specific items they might need for certain activities?
Yes, a Coast Guard certified life jacket is crucial. If a camper does not have one, or if it is not Coast Guard certified, they cannot participate in water activities. Ensuring your camper has the correct life jacket is essential for their safety and enjoyment of pond activities like swimming.

Are there any items campers should definitely not bring to camp, perhaps for safety or to make sure everyone has a good time?
Please do not bring electronic devices. If you prefer, devices can be left in a backpack but must not be taken out during camp hours. If a device becomes an issue, a counselor will safely store it. If you need to contact us during the day, that's no problem; we will be sending live photo updates of your camper's activities.

How should we label our camper's belongings?
We highly recommend labeling all items, especially clothing, towels, and swimsuits, with your camper's first and last name. This helps us ensure that all belongings return home with their rightful owner at the end of the day.
